Vaunene Hale Greene, age 73, of London, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

She leaves behind three siblings, Marilyn Hale Roy of Russell Springs, KY, Mary Ella Holt & husband Stephen of Simpsonville, KY, Mark Hale & wife Tina of Bowling Green, KY; two nieces, Beth Roy Rhea & husband Jim, Brandi Holt; five great nephews, Cameron & Isaac Rhea, Jackson, Mason & Walker Jeffries; plus, a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Graham Vaughan & Sara Bates Hale; one nephew, Lucas Graham Holt; brother-in-law, Roger Roy.

Vaunene Hale Greene, a woman deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, has left this world, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories. Vaunene lived her life exactly as she wished, with authenticity and without pretense, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Known for her culinary skill, Vaunene’s passion for cooking and canning was unmatched. She delighted in creating homemade delicacies, from her signature mustard and ketchup to other culinary treasures not commonly found elsewhere. Her kitchen was a place of creativity and love, where she poured her heart into every dish she prepared.

Beyond her culinary talents, Vaunene was a woman of sentimentality and a collector of antiques. Her home was adorned with treasures from times gone by, each with its own story to tell. She found joy in preserving the past and cherished the memories associated with each piece in her collection.

Funeral services honoring Vaunene Hale Greene will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at St. William Catholic Church in London, Kentucky with Father Charles Howell officiating.  Burial will follow at the St. Sylvester Cemetery in East Bernstadt, Kentucky.  The family will receive friends on Friday, April 12, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. also at the church.  The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
