Velda Tucker, 91, Russell Springs

Velda Tucker, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, peacefully passed away on December 3, 2024, at the age of 91.

Born on October 5, 1933, to George and Emma “Gladys” White, Velda was preceded in death by her loving husband, C.V. Tucker, and her siblings: James “Tommy” White, Opal Dotson, Charles Ray White, Paul White, Carolyn Blevins, Rosa Logan, and David White.

She is survived by her loving children, Joan Tucker Rogers and Steven Tucker; her cherished granddaughter, Torrey and her husband, Elio Pajares; her precious great-granddaughters, Julia, Valentina and Adalise; her dear sister and brother-in-law, Kay and John Fugate; and many adored nieces and nephews.

Velda was a devout Christian woman with unwavering faith. Before moving to Russell Springs, Kentucky in 1971, she worked at U.S. Printing Card in Norwood, Ohio. She had a lifelong dream of becoming a nurse, a dream she fulfilled at the age of 40.

Velda’s memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

The service and visitation will be at Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM CST, with the service following at 1:30 PM on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Bro. Donald Wilson will be officiating the service.  She will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Separate Baptist Church, 316 Sunshine Rd, Russell Springs (Eli), Kentucky.

Pallbearers will be Barry Grider, Danny Dotson, David Dotson, Phillip White, Anthony White, Rick Harris, Jerry Casey, and John Fugate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Grove Separate Baptist Church of Eli, KY.
