Lakers engage against Eagles

After a weather postponement Friday evening, the Russell County Mighty Laker Football Team arrived early at Finley Field Saturday to prepare for a challenge.
In an example of gridiron greatness, the Lakers fought hard against the Campbellsville Eagles-falling just short with a final score of 45-35.
The Eagles soared to an early 21-0 advantage, but the Lakers attempted to close the gap by entering the locker room still trailing 24-6.

Laker Quarterback Tanner Stringer leapt into the end zone for a touchdown over the weekend against the visiting Campbellsville Eagles.
A tough Campbellsville squad held off Russell County’s late-game efforts to eventually come away with a win.
Laker QB Tanner Stringer scored three touchdowns and threw to Kinnett Wills for two trips to the end zone.
Now 2-1 so far this season, Russell County hits the road Friday for a challenge against the Clay County Tigers.
