Staff Report

The Russell County Extension Office will be relocating to a new facility in the Industrial Park area.

The Extension Office has been located at 2688 South U.S. 127 (across from Mighty Dollar) in Russell Springs for several years but will be moving to the Industrial Park site off French Valley Road adjacent to the new SEED Academy and the neighboring Russell County High School and Middle School.

The move has been made possible through negotiations with the Russell County Industrial Development Authority (RCIDA), which is committed to promoting growth and progress.

The presence of the Extension Office in the Industrial Park area is considered to be an asset to present and future projects.

Widely used and appreciated, the Russell County Extension Office (Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment) is known for programs including: 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture & Natural Resources, Family & Consumer Sciences, and Community & Economic Development.

This issue of The Times Journal includes notice of the process to seek “Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from those interested in providing Construction Management services for a new Russell County Extension Office to be located at Lake Cumberland Regional Industrial Complex.”

“This project involves all aspects of developing and constructing a new facility on the site,” the notice said.
