Terril Meece Stephens, 89, Russell Springs

 

Terril Meece Stephens, of Russell Springs, passed away at Russell County Hospital Thursday, March 12, 2026.  He was 89 years of age.

Born December 18, 1936, in Eli, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Arlus and Velna Meece Stephens.  Terril was a proud United States Army veteran, an ironworker, and a retired Kentucky State Police Officer of 25 years achieving the rank of Captain. Terril was also a longstanding member of the Russell Springs United Methodist Church.

Terril is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Terril was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Jane Coleman Stephens, who passed away September 23, 2025; his brothers; Carl, A.W., David, Terry, and Kent Stephens; as well as his sister, Frances Bo Price.

Funeral services are 1:00 PM CST Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Ron Sullivan officiating.

Visitation will be from 8:30 AM Saturday morning, until time of services.

Interment will be at Russell Springs City Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Russell County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to God’s Food Pantry. Donations can be left at the funeral home.
