A Russell County attorney has been honored by a state entity.

Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) of Kentucky recognized 17 individuals Wednesday, March 25 at the Kentucky Historical Society in Frankfort for their invaluable work with child victims of abuse.

As part of the Legendary Partners ceremony, Kevin S. Shearer was honored for his work to bridge the gap from hope to healing for the children he has served.

Shearer and the other nominees were celebrated among fellow colleagues, elected officials, partners and supporters at the event.

Russell County Attorney Kevin S. Shearer’s commitment to helping individuals in need is of the highest level, often going above and beyond the call of duty.

He maintains open communication with community partners and works collaboratively to strengthen outcomes for the children and families they serve.

A steady voice for children throughout each stage of the legal process, he advocates for their safety, dignity, and well-being.

As a longstanding supporter of Lake Cumberland Children’s Advocacy Center, Shearer’s dedication continues to strengthen the center’s mission and the community it protects.

“We are honored to name Kevin S. Shearer as a 2026 Legendary Partner,” Natalie Pasquenza, CEO of Children’s Advocacy Centers of Kentucky, said “He has gone beyond his scope of work to ensure children who are victims of abuse receive the care they need and deserve.”

Children’s Advocacy Centers of Kentucky serve as the unifying force behind 15 regional centers across the commonwealth.

To honor the partnerships needed to provide the best possible response to child abuse, CAC Kentucky celebrated champions nominated by each district in addition to an individual chosen by the coalition.

This year’s Legendary Partners Ceremony helps to mark over 25 years of CACs serving Kentucky’s children.

The Children’s Advocacy Centers of Kentucky is the statewide coalition of CACs dedicated to helping every child impacted by abuse. CAC Kentucky connects local CACs and their partners with the tools, resources, and support needed to provide a comprehensive response to child abuse.
