After treating a packed First Baptist Church of Russell Springs to a rousing gospel song, singer Bradley Walker said a single sentence which encapsulated the evening.
Walker motioned to internationally-known guitarist, humorist, producer, long-time member of the Gaither Vocal band, and “proud Russell Countian” Williams, who has helped to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local youth.
“Kevin Williams, you’re doing the Lord’s work,” he said.

Hometown Hero/Gospel Icon Kevin Williams smiled while performing for a packed First Baptist Church of Russell Springs this past weekend.
That tradition was continued this past Saturday with the popular Kevin’s Kids concert.
At the end of the evening, an announcement was made $111,757 had been raised through recent efforts.
“And there will be more added to that!” Williams excitedly explained.
Late and additional donations are expected to add to the total, he said, and monies earmarked specifically for local youth in need will be distributed soon, he said.
This past weekend’s show featured Williams, Walker, Bluegrass legend Larry Beasley, a special reappearance of the Crossroads Quartet, a community choir, and more.
