Bonnie Sue Acree, 70, Russell Springs

Bonnie Sue Acree, of Russell Springs, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at her home. She was 70 years of age.

Born on March 21, 1956, in Kokomo, Indiana, Bonnie was a daughter of the late Olas and Mary Hanshew Edmonds. Bonnie was a retired dietary assistant at Fair Oaks Health and Rehabilitation, having worked for nearly 30 years. Bonnie was a member of the New Victory Baptist Church. She had a very loving heart, and everyone loved and adored her. Bonnie deeply loved and cared for her cats, Scout and Scrappy.

Bonnie is survived by her brothers, Ben Edmonds, of Bloomington, Indiana, and Richard (and Laura) Edmonds, of Florence, Alabama; and her sisters, Jody Edmonds (and Ricky McFarland), of Russell Springs, Nancy Pettygrove, of Palm Harbor, Florida, Betty (and Paul) Hiscock, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Nelma Davis, of Marion, Indiana.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Acree, who passed away on April 25, 2017; her brother and sister-in-law, Don (and Marilyn) Edmonds; her sister-in-law, Carol Edmonds; and her brothers-in-law, Art Pettygrove and Joe Davis.

Funeral services are 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at New Victory Baptist Church, with Brother Rick Neff, officiating. Burial will follow in White’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at New Victory Baptist Church.
