Timothy Neil Miniard, of Russell Springs, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2023, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center in Somerset. He was 63 years of age.
Timothy was born in Harlan on February 3, 1959, son of the late Disney and Verla Smith Miniard. He married Sandra Burton on August 15, 1981. Timothy worked as a coal miner; he worked with the Appalachian Security Police and was a farmer. Timothy worked hard for everything he had.
Timothy loved to joke around, never taking things too seriously. It could be said that if he wasn’t joking around with you, something was wrong. He liked going fishing and fooling around with old cars. Timothy loved going back to the Eastern Kentucky mountains. He loved life, and he loved his family and grandbabies.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sandra Burton Miniard; his step-mother, Janice Miniard, of Russell Springs; his children, Verla (and David) Barnett, Tim (and Morgan) Miniard, Jamie (and Fara) Miniard, Isreal Miniard and Will Miniard, all of Russell Springs, and Mary (and Josh) Shaw, of Glasgow; his brother, Sonny (and Kat) Miniard, of Russell Springs; his half-brother, Michael Miniard, of Russell Springs; his sisters, Paula Ball, of Russell Springs, and Shirley (and Ralph) New, of Whitley City; and his grandchildren, Madisan Barnett, Elizabeth Miniard and John Miniard, all of Russell Springs, and Lily Shaw, of Glasgow.
Timothy is preceded in death by his parents, Disney Miniard and Verla Smith Miniard; and his son, John Adam Miniard.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., CST, Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Billy Silverman officiating. Burial will follow in the Miniard Family Cemetery.
