OBITUARY
DEBORAH ELAINE BAKER CRAFT, Age 69, of Albany
died Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Danville, KY.
She was born in Clinton County, Kentucky on October 30, 1953 to the late Lloyd C. Baker and Maggie Cash Burchett.
A special grandmother, Lula M. Cash.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Kendrick Craft
Her daughter, Sarah Craft Gosser (Son-in-law, Samuel Wayne Gosser)
Her grandchildren, Samantha Kensley Gosser; Sadie Kayte Gosser
Her brother, Jerry Ray Butler
Her aunts, Doris Taylor Cash; Donna Cash Cooksey
At the age of 19, she was employed by Clinton County News some 13 years. AB and Nell Gibson were not only her employers, but her mentors.
Mrs. Craft worked in the medical field for over 15 years working in an administrative role.
She was a medical instructor at Daymar College for 11 years.
She was a member of Gospel Baptist Church and served as an officer with several civic organizations. She taught Sunday School for 24 plus years.
In 2005, she was recognized as “an outstanding educator” by the National Education Association recognizing instructors who made a significant contribution in their field. She was named “Instructor of the Year” by Daymar students early in her teaching career. She was forced to retire due to poor health.
She never failed to praise her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was saved in Vacation Bible school at the age of 9. She looked forward to setting at Jesus’ feet.
