Joyce Lee Ettner, 70, Jamestown

Joyce Lee Ettner, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Jean Waddle Care Center, in Somerset.  She was 70 years of age.

Born February 11, 1953, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Lee and Pauline Coffey Womack.  Joyce was a member of Pleasant Hill Community Church.  She lived with God as her guide, her rock, the center focus of her life. Joyce knew the importance of love and trusting in the Lord, and she shared her thoughts with her family in letters that she wrote to them.

“God has given me a lot in my lifetime but the best thing He blessed me with was a heart full of love.”

“God knows exactly what He is doing – He lets us go through rough times – but it sure makes us enjoy and treasure the good times.”

“Please always love one another and stay close.  It is so very important.”

And maybe her most important instruction of all……” Trust in the Lord. I do.”

Joyce leaves behind many wonderful memories and a beautiful legacy of love for her family and friends to treasure.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Darin Ettner, of Jamestown, whom she wed September 18, 2005; two sons, Michael (and Samantha) Ettner, and Kyle Ettner (and Jewel Arnce), both of Indianapolis, Indiana; a daughter, Paula Segebarth, of Peoria, Arizona; one brother, Rodney (and Lisa) Womack, of Indianapolis, Indiana; and four grandchildren, Gracie Segebarth, Maggie Segebarth, Harper Ettner, and Kyson Ettner.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a son, Dougie Horsley; and a sister, Barbara Womack.

A Celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, January 12, 2024, at Russell Springs Christian Church, with Brother Carroll Egnew and Brother Dennis Price officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Joyce be made to Pleasant Hill Community Church. Those can be mailed to Johnna Bolin, 402 Reynolds Creek Road, Russell Springs, Kentucky, 42642 or left at the church on Friday.

Arrangements for Mrs. Joyce Lee Ettner are entrusted to Bernard Funeral Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.bernardfuneralhome.com.

Our sympathies to Darin and family!
We we’re so blessed to have had Joyce in our family of friends thru the years.
Her sweetness, kindness, fun beautiful personality will be missed. When we think of Joyce we remember the smiles she put on all the Martin grandkids when she made the best brownies ever!
When she and Darin would make
Ice Cream Sundae’s with all the trimmings for all the little kids
    at their campsite. So fun!
A girl with a lot of love, compassion and life in her.
    Love you Joyce!
