Carl B. Byrd, Jr., 85, Jamestown
Carl B. Byrd, Jr., of Jamestown, passed away from this life Monday, October 7, 2024, at Russell County Hospital. He was 85 years of age.
Born December 27, 1938, in Huntsville, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Carl Bethel and Ora Lee Sexton Byrd. Carl was a retired steel salesman for Byrd Fabrication, a company that he owned and operated, for many years. He was an avid fisherman and took every available opportunity to cast out his line. Carl was a loving husband and father, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his beloved wife of sixty years, Sandra Byrd, of Jamestown; a son, Carl (and Lisa) Byrd, III, of Georgetown; a daughter, Tracy Byrd, of Jupiter, Florida; a granddaughter, Katalina Byrd; and a brother, Robert (and Fannie) Byrd, of Nicholasville.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Lee Byrd; and a sister, Sandra Byrd Houge.
Per Carl’s wishes, cremation rites were honored. No services are planned at this time.
