Lillie “Penny” Belle Baker, 91, Formerly of Jamestown

Lillie Belle Baker, known to her friends as “Penny”, passed away on October 19, 2024, in Lake Placid Florida, where she had lived for the past two years near her children.

Penny was born in 1933, in Perry County, Kentucky, where she grew up the youngest of ten children.  In 1950, she married Birchel Baker. Together, they moved to the Detroit, Michigan area, where they lived for the next 35 years. After that, they retired to Jamestown, Kentucky.

Penny was a mother of three; Karen, Kenny, and Gary; grandmother of eleven; and great-grandmother of seven. She enjoyed her years working in the Hazel Park school system, hospice volunteering, her church family, friends, and neighbors in Jamestown, and spending time golfing and quilting.

Funeral services are 11:00 AM CST, Friday, November 1, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Baker Cemetery, in Yerkes, Kentucky.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday morning, until the time of services.
