David Leon Bowlin, 69, Russell Springs

David Leon Bowlin, of Russell Springs, passed from this life Tuesday, May 27, 2025.  He was 69 years of age.

David was born Wednesday, April 11, 1956, in Cumberland County, son of the late Bernice and Maxie Spears Bowlin.  He was a custodian at Salem Elementary School.

He is survived by his son, Chris (and Brenda) Bowlin; his grandchildren, Alex Cary, Stacy Cary, Blake (and Sarah) Bowlin and Landon Bowlin; his sister, Cathy Johnson (and Bobby Redmon); his niece, Tiffany Bean; his great-niece, Rylie Smith; great-nephews, Phillip Cornelison and J Keith; a special friend, Wanda Vonfumetti; and his beloved fur-baby, “Ginger”.

Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by his daughter, Leona Bowlin Cary; his son-in-law, Chris Cary; and his grandson, John Russell Bowlin.

Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2025, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Todd Bryant and David Lewis officiating.  Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery, in Burkesville.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Bernard Funeral Home, and will resume after 8:00 a.m. Friday, until time for funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International for Bible placement.
