After seeing success at home, the Russell County Lady Laker Soccer Teams will take to the road.

The Varsity squad is set to travel to Whitley County tonight (Thursday), then both the Varsity and JV will be at Taylor County Monday for more away action.

Both Lady Laker Teams played the Larue County Hawks at home this past weekend.

Saturday soccer saw the Varsity team end their game in a tie.

Last Thursday, Russell County came out on top over visiting Clinton County with a strong, 6-0 win in a district challenge.

Russell County’s Raylie Pelston concentrated on making the play during action action against Larue County this past weekend.

Soccer stand-out Addison Coffey scored four of the Lakers’ goals with the consistent Adriana Thomas and Madison Weisbrodt each adding a goal.

JV action ended with Russell County winning 8-0, boosted by Kenzie Bennett’s four goals, and Ava McFarland and Mercedez Sanchez contributing a goal each.

At a home game last Tuesday, Russell County cruised to an 8-0 win over visiting Casey County.

In those matches, Coffey again led the Lakers with four goals-followed by Thomas with two, and Marissa Hatchett and Jasmine Bennett each adding a goal toward the win.

The JV Lady Lakers picked up a 2-1 win thanks to goals by Mercedez Sanchez and Ava McFarland.
