Marsel Popplewell, 79, Russell Springs

Marsel Popplewell, age 79, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025 at his residence.

He was born on Sunday, March 24 1946, in Russell Springs, KY to Maudie Johnson Popplewell and Emmitt Popplewell.

Marsel is survived by: one sister Katie Hatfield, of Jabez, KY; one brother Thurman Popplewell, of Columbus, IN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Nona E. Siler, Margie Roslene Chumbley, Audeen Fox, Vonda Mae Fizer, Ocus, Coy, Dewell, Bruce, Kirby, and Darwin Popplewell.

He was retired from the Kentucky State Parks and a veteran of the United States Army.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday, November 17 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY. Visitation will start at 11 AM the day of funeral services.

Interment will be in Popplewell Cemetery, Russell Springs, KY.

Bro. Mark Polston will be officiating.

Military honors provided by Russell County Honor Guard.
